"Letter of Intent" or "Letter of Interest" for an Actor

I am preparing an investment package for a 1 million dollar independent film. After negotiating with a few agencies, I got some actors to verbally agree, but the investors would like to see something in writing. After a couple of hours searching the internet for an Actor's "Letter of Intent" or "Letter of Interest" document, I decided to get some advice from a lawyer friend and create one. This is a non-binding agreement, but it shows your investors that there are people out there with serious interest in our project. Modify, update, use it for no charge, enjoy.

Letter of Interest
Date:

From: (Producer)
Address:

To: (Actor)
Address:

Name __________ (hereinafter "Actor") hereby expresses interest in playing the role of “Character Name” in the film project of the working title “Film Title” under development by "Production Company LLC" (hereinafter "Producer") subject to Actor's availability and the future agreement to terms of employment between Actor and Producer. This letter does not bind either Producer or Actor to an employment contract, but grants Producer permission to use Actor's name and likeness in the pre-production development of this project and in seeking financing for this project, for a period not to exceed one year.

Cordell Harris "The Little Ones" Music Video Directed by Mikel Fair

Cordell Harris is a very good person and I'm inspired by his music. This music video was a lot of fun to produce and tell his story. I shot this with my Panasonic HVX200 and 35mm adapter. That's a big rig compared to what we use these days, but I still like the look.

Paul Wall "Got To Get It" Music Video, Directed by Mikel Fair

It feels good to have a music video out there, that I directed with over 2.3 million hits. It's a credit to Paul Wall and the popularity of his music. I had a small budget, so I tried to be as creative as possible, telling the story of his song. I think it's a universal message a that anyone can appreciate.

"Medea Sirkas: Strutters for Life" Feature Film Documentary

I have been filming and editing this project bit by bit over the years. I'm looking to complete this film in 2016. Medea Sirkas is a strutting group from the San Franciso Bay Area that has been performing for over twenty years.

"Soul Damage" Feature Film in Jackson, Mississippi

I was fortunate to work with Director Maximus Wright on his film "Soul Damage." I have already mixed audio on location for this film and am waiting to start post production very soon. It's a great story and I've already got some musical ideas ready to compose.

Global Parking: Corporate Video Directed by Mikel Fair

Sometimes it can be a challenge, when you have to be a one-man-army, shooting a video. Sometimes though, it's what you have to do to make a decent paycheck from a client with little money. I just used my resources, called a few model friends and had fun shooting this with my big 35mm Adapter Panasonic HVX200 rig. I thought that it turned out pretty well, this video still gets me work, believe it or not.

Current TV: Street Fashions Houston

This is a actually he very first television spot that I ever directed that actually appeared on Television. Current TV, originally launched by Al Gore to support actual independently produced content, but has since sold it soul to Al Jazeera and is involved in a legal quagmire.

Luckily, I was able to produce a video for them that rotated on television for over a year. I only had access to a standard definition Panasonic DVX100 at the time with a Redrock M2 35mm adapter w/50mm days. That setup was a big deal in 2011 before the DSLR revolution, but now it seems so "dated." Anyway, here it is.
